Announcing the 2019 PHADA Scholarship Program Winners
Osman Abdullahi, 2019 Stephen J. Bollinger Memorial Scholarship winner
PHADA is pleased to announce the winners of its annual Scholarship Program. Osman Abdullahi of Savage, MN, has been awarded the 2019 Stephen J. Bollinger Memorial Scholarship. A senior at Burnsville High School, Osman is a resident of the Scott County Community Development Agency (CDA). CDA’s Executive Director, William Jaffa, states that Osman is a “very intelligent, reliable, and dedicated student.”
In his accompanying essay, Osman writes that “being a young student who has lived in public housing my entire life, you become aware of financial circumstances…. Understanding that education would be my most available asset to climb out under the weight of financial hardships, I worked hard to excel in my studies.” Osman is a member of Burnsville High School’s National Honor Society and is currently a PSEO (Post Secondary Enrollment Opportunities) student at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities.
