Additional Funding and Waivers Are Top Priority
John Hodge, PHADA President
I hope all PHADA members, your families, residents and communities are coping as best as possible under very difficult circumstances. I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know what the association is doing to help HAs as we address the unfolding crisis gripping so many of our communities.
PHADA’s staff in Washington is in regular communications with HUD headquarters, advocating for the resources and flexibility we need to operate right now. Similarly, PHADA has been coordinating with NAHRO, CLPHA and dozens of other advocacy organizations to urge Congress to appropriate additional funding to help us deal with the situation at the ground level.
As I am sure you have noticed, we have stepped up efforts to get information out to you concerning HUD waivers, rule changes and the contents of the various appropriations packages. Our policy staff and communications team will continue sending this important information to you via ongoing email blasts, tweets, website updates and this newsletter. We have also compiled a great deal of useful information on the PHADA website. Please see: www.phada.org/COVID19.
