The Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority (LRHA) Board of Commissioners has announced the appointment of Mary E. Mayrose, currently the Executive Director of the Phenix City Housing Authority, to the position of Executive Director of the Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority. Mayrose succeeds Dawn Fagan who resigned earlier this year.
LRHA Board Chairman Turner Perrow said, “It is very important to the Board that our next Executive Director exemplify the key leadership traits and critical technical skills required to move LRHA and the City of Lynchburg’s affordable housing initiatives forward. While there were other qualified candidates, Mary was the clear choice due to her passion, history of accomplishment, vast experience and knowledge of housing policy and industry leaders. We are excited about the future of LRHA with Mary at the helm.”
Mayrose, who is eager to get started in the new role stated, “One of the guiding principles of my career is encouraging mutual trust between the Board of Commissioners, residents, city government and other stakeholders by keeping their dreams, visions and ideas front and center in all actions. I am excited to have the opportunity to become a part of the Lynchburg community, and to work with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic initiatives for the transformation and creation of affordable housing.”
Mayrose currently serves on the Board of NeighborWorks, Columbus Georgia, The Phenix City Rotary Club, and is a PHADA Trustee where she serves on several committees.
