PHADA, along with other housing associations and over 400 PHAs wrote to the Democratic leadership urging them to keep housing programs in the Build Back Better Act (BBBA) or any subsequent legislation. The nation is in the middle of a housing crisis and retaining these needed resources in BBBA will help millions of families across the country. Critical funding includes $65 for the Public Housing Capital Fund, $25 billion to expand the voucher program, and significant funding for many housing and community development programs. The bill also includes the broadest expansion of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) since the inception of the tax credit in 1986.
PHADA will continue to urge Congress to support this critical funding for HUD programs. PHADA encourages members to contact your senators and urge them to support Build Back Better through local examples of how these investments will help low-income residents in your communities.
Thank you for your support!
