Today, HUD announced a due date for the FY 22 Capital Fund Emergency Safety and Security applications. On March 10, HUD issued Notice PIH 2022-05 Emergency Safety and Security Grants Annual Funding Notification and Application Process. The Department will fund $10 million of Safety and Security capital grants in FY 22 for emergency capital needs to be used for necessary safety and security measures to address crime and drug-related activity and the threat of carbon monoxide poisoning in public housing. The maximum grant amount is $250,000 per housing authority.
The notice provides instructions regarding the application and funding process.
