PHADA and Industry Groups Increase Appropriations Request for FY 23

PHADA, working with other industry groups, has updated its annual appropriations request to consider HA shortfall needs as well as an increase to Tenant Protection Vouchers (TPVs). Previous HUD funding to address Operating Fund shortfalls totaled $25 million whereas HA needs totaled more than $370 million. This leaves a gap of $345 million, the amount the groups have requested in our letter to Congressional appropriations leadership. In addition, $364 million is being requested for TPVs to allow HAs to meet their recapitalization and redevelopment initiatives, including for the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) conversion transactions currently underway.
