On April 26, 2024, HUD published the Final Determination for the Adoption of Energy Efficiency Standards for New Construction of HUD- and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Financed Housing, establishing the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 90.1-2019 as minimum energy efficiency standards for new construction for certain HUD and USDA covered programs.
