Funds Still Available to HAs
The House of Representatives yesterday failed to adopt a bill that would have continued federal funding beyond today when the existing Continuing Resolution (CR) expires. If Congress fails to adopt a CR today, a government shutdown will begin at midnight tonight.
PHADA and other organizations have talked with HUD representatives, who advised that public housing operating, Housing Choice Voucher, and other funding will still be made available at present levels for the next couple of months regardless of what happens in the current CR debate.
This is an ongoing and rapidly evolving situation. PHADA will report details to members as they become available.
