Industry, Advocacy Groups Send Letter Requesting EHV Funding

On May 19, PHADA and seven other organizations wrote to Congressional appropriators requesting “adequate funding and flexibilities” for the continued operation of the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program. The letter was jointly signed by PHADA, its housing industry partners (CLPHA, NAHRO, and the MTW Collaborative), and several housing and homelessness advocacy groups. A copy of the letter is available here.

As previously covered in the Advocate, HUD notified agencies administering EHVs that the Department was obligating all remaining EHV funding through its CY25 disbursement. HUD’s notice further stated that HAs should expect “no additional funding from HUD” for their EHV programs.

Given that EHV funding was expected to last until 2030, the premature end of this program will have many negative impacts on the families served through the program. PHADA and its industry partners will continue to advocate for additional funding for EHVs and for maximum flexibility for HAs to manage the remaining months of available funding. Members with questions or who wish to provide input on EHVs should contact: policy@phada.org.
