PHADA, NAHRO, CLPHA, the Moving to Work Collaborative, and the Local Housing Administrators Coalition have released their joint appropriations recommendations for FY 26. The recommendations encompass programs administered through HUD’s Public and Indian Housing and Multifamily Offices, which collectively ensure that over four million households have access to safe, decent, and affordable housing.
The industry groups strongly oppose the administration’s efforts to slash HUD funding and block grant housing assistance as proposed in the President’s FY 26 budget request. If enacted, these proposals would undermine housing stability, increase homelessness, and harm local economies.
The industry groups urge Congress to reject HUD budget cuts and to fully fund needed housing assistance programs.
