PHADA joined other national housing organizations in urging Congress to reject FY 27 HUD proposals that would limit new voucher issuances or expand mandatory work requirements and time limits across HUD programs. The coalition called for full funding of Housing Choice Voucher renewals and policies that preserve local flexibility for HAs to serve families and effectively manage housing assistance programs. The letter also cautioned against expanding untested policies at a time when HAs continue to face rising housing costs, growing demand for assistance, and long waiting lists.
