At midnight on July 10, the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act became law without President Trump’s signature. This is the first bill in over a decade to be enacted without the President signing it.
PHADA thanks our industry and Congressional allies for their hard wok on the bill, which will streamline environmental reviews, raise the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) cap, and require HUD to study the impacts of Build America, Buy America compliance. The Association will continue to work to modify the law’s Moving to Work provision, which imposes unnecessary and burdensome reporting requirements.
Members interested in the bill should consult prior Advocate coverage and the Bipartisan Policy Center’s explainer.
