HUD Announces FY 26 FSS Funding

Applications Due October 13, 2026

On September 9, HUD published the FY 26 Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Annual Funding Notice, Notice PIH 2026-24. The notice should be read together with the FSS General Funding Notice, Notice PIH 2025-15, which establishes the general requirements and procedures for the program.

HAs interested in applying should note the following:

• FY 26 funding is available only to FSS programs that have received funding at least once during the past three years.
• Funding will not be available for new FSS applicants in FY 26.
• HUD sent an application link to Authorized Organizational Representatives (AORs) on September 9. HAs that have not received the link should make sure their AOR information is current.
• Only the AOR or Program/Project Director (PI/PD) can submit the application in GrantSolutions.

HUD also will hold two FSS funding question sessions on September 14, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm ET, and September 22, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm ET. The sessions will not be recorded.
