CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER/DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

 

 The Indianapolis Housing Agency (IHA) is seeking a highly qualified Chief Financial Officer/Director of Financial Management to lead and manage the seven (7) staff that provide financial, accounting, auditing and business management services for the agency.  IHA has approximately 136 full-time equivalent staff that administers a budget of $77 million.  The CFO reports directly to the IHA Executive Director.   The Indianapolis Housing Agency is the largest housing agency in Indiana and serves the affordable housing needs of approximately 11,000 residents.  The IHA is in the renewal stage of the organizational life cycle.  The recently appointed Executive Director seeks to build a strategic leadership team with accountability to tenants, commissioners, investors and grantors.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead change, develop staff, manage for results and manage relationships with industry stakeholders.

A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public finance, accounting or a closely related discipline is required.  Candidates are expected to have a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in governmental financial management, including a minimum of five (5) years at a supervisory level.  And five (5) years of experience providing such services in the federal and state programs required.  A Certified Public Accountant designation is also required.  A commitment will be required to complete the CPA designation within a reasonable time period.  Candidates with exceptional academic or experience backgrounds that compensate for an academic or experience deficiency may still be considered at the discretion of the Executive Director.  Candidates will be required to provide academic, work history, and salary history verification.  The remaining qualifications and expectations can be found in the job description found on the agency website at www.indyhousing.org
