A 1,900 member trade organization based on Capitol Hill, the Public Housing Authorities Directors Association (PHADA) is seeking a housing policy staff person to represent membership in Washington. Primary functions include analyzing and keeping members informed of housing legislation and HUD regulations, and advocating the association’s positions on such matters. Some duties include: writing newsletter articles for a biweekly publication; drafting association’s official testimony, comments and correspondence in consultation with membership; researching housing issues using HUD data and other sources; representing PHADA in HUD and congressional meetings; serving as representative with other industry and interest groups; conducting oral presentations on pending issues; staffing PHADA’s national meetings and responding to member requests for information. Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Detailed knowledge of, and experience with, public and assisted housing programs is essential. Preference for candidates with a graduate degree and experience administering assisted housing programs. Competitive salary and excellent benefit package.
