Senior Housing Policy Analyst

A 1,900-member trade organization based on Capitol Hill, the Public Housing Authorities Directors Association (PHADA), is seeking a senior housing policy staff person to represent membership with Congress and HUD in Washington. Primary functions include analyzing and keeping members informed of housing, other congressional legislation, and HUD regulations and advocating the association’s positions.

Some duties include: writing newsletter articles for a biweekly publication; drafting the association’s official testimony, comments, and correspondence in consultation with membership; researching housing issues using HUD data and other sources; representing PHADA in HUD and congressional meetings; serving as representative with other industry and interest groups; conducting oral presentations on pending issues; staffing PHADA’s national conferences and responding to member requests for information.

Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills. Detailed knowledge of, and experience with, public and assisted housing programs is required. Preference for candidates with a graduate degree and experience with housing programs. Executive level salary and excellent benefits package including health insurance. Some telework.
