On July 20, on a 220–207 vote, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a minibus of six appropriations bills, including Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (T-HUD). The House Appropriations Committee had previously stated in its press release that the bill provides a total of $62.7 billion for HUD, which is an increase of $8.9 billion above FY 22, or 16.5 percent.

It is important to note that the Senate has not yet released its own appropriations bills, and that there has been no agreement in Congress on top-line numbers for Defense and Non-Defense Discretionary funding. Republican committee leaders have said they are not likely to mark up their appropriations bills until they agree on those funding levels. It is expected that negotiation of the House and Senate bills will not be completed until after the mid-term elections, thereby necessitating a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government funded.
