HUD Resident Council Training in Birmingham and Chicago

Tenant leaders and residents have the opportunity to learn how to form and run effective resident councils. HUD’s Office of Public Housing and Voucher Programs (OPHVP) is scheduling training for residents interested in forming resident councils in Birmingham, AL, and Chicago, IL. Click on the City link to register:

  • Birmingham, on April 26, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Chicago on May 8, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Housing authorities interested in sharing information with residents can use these outreach flyers for Birmingham and Chicago to connect with residents.

Additionally, HUD staff has indicated they will be looking for resident feedback for the recently released proposed rule “Reducing Barriers to HUD-Assisted Housing.”

PHADA has recently reported on criminal records and tenant screening proposed rule, and will also be seeking input from member to gather feedback and prepare formal comments that are due by June 10.
